It's A Dog's Life...       Maggie Mae Mayo was born in January of 1997. She came to live with Jean in March of that year and has been Jean's pride and joy ever since. She was the largest puppy in a litter of eight, and when Jean went to pick her out she was the regal-looking female sitting by and watching her littermates frolic. From the first day she was brought home, Maggie has been the most precious, wonderful dog in the world! She definitely was a spirited puppy and went through all the typical puppy stages of chewing her human's belongings, digging holes in the yard, and generally wreaking havoc. She has the sweetest personality and loves people! She generally greets everyone with a toy in her mouth and enthusiastically wagging her whole body. Bart often jokes that Maggie is one of the reasons he wanted to marry Jean. He adores her...and Maggie loves him with all her heart. She absolutely adores her kitty sibblings and often sleeps with one or several of them. Sometimes we wonder if she thinks she is just a big cat! Maggie had knee surgery in December and is not getting around as well as she used to. Like her mom, she is on a diet so we are hoping that getting a little weight off of her will help. She is not able to chase her ball much anymore, but still loves to walk around her backyard, help mom and dad pick up sticks (until she decides to lay down and chew on some!) and go swimming in her pool. Tug-of-war and wrestling with her dad are also favorite pastimes! Maggie's photo album
